So Coconut

I adore yogurt (I’ve even made it myself), but my body isn’t a fan of the dairy and soy- or rice-based yogurts don’t even come close to the real thing. So yogurt has become an occasional indulgence for me, and a section I try to avoid in the grocery store. I’m always on the lookout for new dairy-free versions of the smooth tangy stuff, though, and will taste anything that looks promising enough. One day I saw the most exciting version yet: coconut milk-based yogurt from So Delicious. Completely dairy-free, devoid of any odd soy flavors, with the creaminess potential of coconut milk I always find hopeful. Despite the daunting price ($1.89 for a 6oz container), it won a prime spot in my basket.

Creamy vanilla, a hint of coconut, and enough tanginess to be real, this yogurt is nothing short of a dairy-free miracle. It even stood the test of my favorite concoction: mini DF chocolate chips mixed into the vanilla-flavored yogurt. (It only sounds strange until you taste it.) The blueberry-flavored coconut milk yogurt is also quite good, with the coconut hovering in the background and allowing the blueberries to take their rightful place on center stage.

I highly recommend this product for yogurt fiends whose taste buds refuse to be betrayed. You won’t be disappointed. Unfortunately, the exorbitant price keeps it from earning a regular place on my grocery list. I hope one day So Delicious will realize that they would sell more of their product if they would make it So Economical.
